# Work and engineering integrations

> Connect GitHub, Jira, Linear, Notion, Asana, PostHog, Sentry and Okta so Hive can surface stale work, answer delivery questions and prepare updates.

Project and engineering tools tell Hive what work is assigned, what is moving and what has
quietly stopped. Connect them to catch stale work early and get plain-language answers about
delivery.

## GitHub

**Connect:** OAuth.

**Hive reads:** your repository inventory, open pull requests, issues assigned to you, and pull
request and issue bodies. Searches are always scoped to the repositories you connected, never
the whole of public GitHub.

**Actions with approval:** create, comment on, update, close and reopen issues; add a label.

**Signals:** **Stale assigned work** — an open issue assigned to you that has not been updated
in **14 days**. Hive reads up to 100 items per page and 5,000 per run.

**Merged pull request summaries in Slack:** you can also have Hive post a summary of merged
pull requests to a Slack channel. Pick the repositories and the channel; Hive posts through your
own Slack connection.

## Jira

**Connect:** OAuth.

**Hive reads:** your user, assignable users, your open issues, project issues, issues by key and
projects.

**Actions with approval:** create, comment on, assign, transition, update, label and delete
(permanent) issues.

**Signals:** **Stale assigned work** — the same 14-day rule as GitHub.

## Linear

**Connect:** OAuth, or Linear's official MCP server (`https://mcp.linear.app/mcp`). Through MCP,
Hive can read issues, projects and comments; any tool that changes something goes through
approval. See [MCP servers](/integrations/mcp-servers).

## Notion

**Connect:** OAuth, or Notion's official MCP server (`https://mcp.notion.com/mcp`).

**Hive reads:** pages and page metadata.

**Actions with approval:** create a page, append a block, update properties, archive a page.

## PostHog

**Connect:** OAuth. Choose your region — **EU** (`eu.posthog.com`) or **US** (`us.posthog.com`).
The wrong region points at a different host, so reads return no data.

**Hive reads:** projects, dashboards, insights and feature flags.

**Actions with approval:** create, update and delete annotations.

## Sentry

**Connect:** Sentry's official MCP server (`https://mcp.sentry.dev/mcp`), listed under
Observability. Hive reads organisations, projects, issues, members and teams; changes such as
resolving or assigning an issue go through approval.

## Okta

**Connect:** OAuth. Hive can prepare a **suspend user** action for approval, which Okta can
reverse by unsuspending. Hive does not read from Okta yet.

## Connect-only providers

You can connect these today, but Hive does not yet read from them or act in them:

* **Asana** (project)
* **Twilio** (messaging)

## Ideas

* "What did the team ship this week, and what is still open that is assigned to me?"
* A daily signal list of issues assigned to people that have gone stale.
* A workflow that turns a meeting transcript into Jira tasks and drafts the recap email.
