# Workflow templates

> Start a Hive workflow from a built-in template such as Fee Reminder or Ticket Triage, save your own as a workspace template, and understand readiness labels.

Templates are ready-made workflows you copy and adapt. The **Templates** tab lists Hive's built-in
templates and the templates members of your workspace have saved. Search, or filter by category:
**Client ops**, **Finance**, **Growth**, **Operations** and **Support**.

## Built-in templates

| Template | Category | Starts from | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| **New Client Onboarding** | Client ops | In-app form "Signed letter received" | Drafts a welcome pack, asks the team for the client's Xero contact, and sends a welcome email through Outlook. |
| **Email Keeper** | Client ops | Hourly schedule | Reads new Outlook mail, flags anything unusual for a human, and drafts replies for the rest. |
| **Fee Reminder** | Finance | Daily schedule, 06:00 | Finds overdue Xero invoices and sends each client a reminder through Outlook. |
| **Meeting to Tasks** | Operations | In-app form "Meeting finished" | Extracts tasks from a transcript, creates a Jira issue for each and drafts a follow-up email. |
| **Ticket Triage** | Support | Hourly schedule | Reads new Zendesk tickets, tags each by urgency and alerts the support team to urgent ones. |
| **Website Summariser** | Growth | In-app form "Company Enrichment Form" | Researches a company's website with web search and drafts a summary email. |
| **Renewal Scout** | Operations | Weekly schedule, Mondays 09:00 | Finds upcoming HubSpot renewals and drafts a renewal note for each. |

Every template is a normal draft once you use it: change the prompts, apps and schedule to fit.
Sending a template's starter brief unchanged on **+ Describe** also creates it, even when your
workspace has no AI model configured.

## Readiness labels

Every template is listed, with a label for anything in the way:

| Label | Meaning |
| - | - |
| No label | Ready to run. |
| **Connect** and app names | Connect those apps first. See [Connect an app](/integrations/connect-an-app). |
| **Not available yet** | It uses a step your workspace cannot run yet; connecting apps will not help. |

## Use a template

    Select **Use template**. Hive creates a new private draft and opens it in the builder.

    If steps need connected accounts, **Set up** asks which account each app should use. If you skip
    it, the builder header lists each step that still needs an account.

    Run a [test](/workflows/test-and-deploy#test-runs) and [deploy](/workflows/test-and-deploy#deploy-a-release) when it behaves.

## Save a workflow as a template

    Give the workflow a description, then select **Save as template**.

    Enter a **Template name** and **Template description**, then **Next**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Categorise it">
    Choose a **Template category**, add **Template tags**, then **Create template**.
  </Step>

Saving a template needs the **Operator** role or higher. The template appears on **Templates** for
everyone in your workspace who can use its steps; each starts their own copy. The **Share** dialog
shows whether a template has been made from the workflow and links to it.

A workspace template can be deleted only by the member who saved it. Built-in templates cannot be
deleted.
