What leaders get
- One attention centre. The Signals page ranks what needs a decision across finance, sales, support and engineering. Anything that’s already handled or snoozed stays out of your way.
- Honest coverage. The Coverage tab shows what Hive is and isn’t watching, so a quiet feed is never mistaken for an all-clear.
- Delegation with guardrails. Decide which roles can approve which kinds of action, set spend caps, and let routine work run only after it has earned trust.
- Receipts. The audit log traces every action from signal to plan to decision to result.
Ask across the whole business
Ask Hive is the home screen. Ask questions that used to need three people and four tools:- What are the biggest risks across finance, sales and support this week?
- Which clients are both overdue on invoices and waiting on a reply from us?
- Summarise last month’s P&L and compare it with the month before.
- Build a slide deck summarising Q3 pipeline for the board.
- Create a spreadsheet of every open renewal with owner and value.
Automate across departments
Use workflows for repeatable processes that cross team boundaries:
Or describe what you want on the workflow + Describe tab, and the workflow assistant drafts it for you to review. See Workflow templates and Workflow assistant.
Delegate safely: earned autonomy
Hive doesn’t ask you to trust it on day one. Every kind of action sits on a ladder, and moves up only when you allow it:
Money, legal and irreversible actions (B4) always ask first, whatever the rung. When your team approves the same kind of suggestion three times within 30 days, Hive offers to automate it. Accepted automations start in shadow and are capped at Auto in limits. See Autonomy and blast radius.
Some workspaces taking part in a Hive pilot have autonomy increases frozen for the duration of the pilot.
Controls you’ll want as the owner
- Roles: Owner, Admin, Department lead, Operator and Analyst, each with a ceiling on the risk it can approve. See Roles and permissions.
- Spend caps: a per-action cap and a daily cap on money actions. The defaults are £5,000 and £25,000.
- Kill switch: halts every autonomous action and approval, company-wide, until you resume. See Safety and control.
- Product access: show or hide Agent Studio, Workflows and Company knowledge (the Business Brain) in the sidebar, and limit who can use them to selected members and groups. Hiding a product doesn’t stop anything already running. See Workspace settings.
- Predictable pricing: seats with included credits, plus run allowances. See Billing and plans.
