Connecting a tool takes a minute. You sign in to the provider in a secure window, Hive stores the connection in its vault, and the first sync starts immediately — so the first signals and answers can appear within moments of connecting.

Before you start

  • Owners and Admins can connect any provider in the catalog. Connecting a provider for the first time also enables it for the rest of the workspace.
  • Other members can connect their own account once an Owner or Admin has enabled that provider.
  • Sign in with an account that can see the data you want Hive to use. Hive can only read what that account can read.

Connect a tool

1

Open Integrations

Select Integrations in the sidebar and stay on the Connectors tab. Use the search box (“Search connectors by name, category, or URL…”) or the All, Recommended, Connected and Available filters to find the tool.
2

Choose the tool

Select the provider’s tile, or select Add integration to open Add a connector. Some tools can connect in more than one way — for example Notion, Linear and Stripe offer both OAuth and their official MCP server. Pick the method you prefer.
3

Sign in and approve access

A secure sign-in window opens for the provider. Sign in and approve the access it asks for. Hive never sees your password.
4

Let the first sync run

Back in Hive, the tile shows as connected and a first sync runs straight away. The account starts at the Read level: Hive can search and summarise, and nothing leaves Hive.

Provider-specific steps

PostHog asks which region your project lives in: EU (eu.posthog.com) or US (us.posthog.com). Choose the one your PostHog account uses. The wrong region resolves to a different host, so reads return no data.
Sage 200 asks for your edition: Sage 200 Standard Online or Sage 200 Professional / Extra Online. Hive discovers your site and company after you sign in. The account you sign in with needs Sage 200 API access and Company Access; without them the connection is refused with a message saying so.
Hive’s Xero invoice signals need the accounting.transactions.read permission. Approve the access Xero asks for during sign-in; if you connected with narrower access, reconnect.
Microsoft 365 connects as separate tiles so you grant exactly what you need: Outlook (mail and calendar), Microsoft Teams (chats and channels), OneDrive and SharePoint Online (files), and Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (documents).
Stripe can connect through the managed connector or through Stripe’s official MCP server (https://mcp.stripe.com). See MCP servers.

Connect more than one account

You can connect several accounts of the same provider — for example a shared billing@ mailbox and your own inbox. They appear as one tile with an Accounts panel. Each account:
  • is owned by the member who connected it;
  • has its own autonomy level (Read, Draft or Act);
  • sits in a fallback order, primary first. Owners and Admins can reorder accounts.
Reconnecting the same account refreshes it rather than adding a duplicate. See Accounts and autonomy.

After you connect

  • Signals: if the provider has a signal pack, Hive starts watching for things that need attention. Some monitors first spend a few cycles learning a baseline. See Coverage.
  • Ask: you can ask about the tool’s data straight away. Hive reads live where it can and cites what it read.
  • Files: file stores such as Google Drive and OneDrive run a full first scan, then sync changes incrementally.
  • Actions: any action Hive prepares for the tool waits for your approval.
Not seeing what you expected? Ask an Owner or Admin to press Run loop now at the top of the Connectors tab. If the tile shows Reconnect required, sign in again. See Health and disconnecting.
